GEEEEP Chairman, Hon. Dr. Mrs. Judith Mayen Ogbara, engages education and community leaders in Akwa Ibom to advance opportunities and sustainable policies for the girl child.
As part of GEEEEP’s commitment to securing and sustaining the education of the girl child, Chairman Hon. Dr. Mrs. Judith Mayen Ogbara paid a visit to the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi, Prof. Leo Daniel.
During the visit, the Vice Chancellor graciously conducted Dr. Ogbara around the university’s facilities and shared the institution’s forward-looking vision, including plans for the construction of a runway to support aircraft take-off and landing within the university campus.
Following the engagement at the university, Dr. Ogbara also visited Her Royal Majesty, Obongawan Mandu Abia, wife of the Paramount Ruler of Eket, Obong E. C. D. Abia.
During the visit, she reiterated GEEEEP’s commitment to ensuring that the girl child is adequately cared for, given unhindered access to quality education, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to society.
Dr. Ogbara further emphasized the importance of transforming outdated narratives and promoting sustainable policies that secure a brighter future for girls through quality education.
The engagements reaffirm GEEEEP’s commitment to working with educational institutions, community leaders, and other stakeholders to create an environment where Nigerian girls can access education, develop their potential, and actively contribute to national development.
